published a naked photo of himself on blog, professor gramo has. how shameful!

Today, Gheorghe Stefanov (Gigi), the man gramo blogger, has been punished by his employer, the Philosophy Faculty with the University of Bucharest, for publishing a nude photo of himself on his blog [RO/ EN]. As a lecturer, he is now forbidden to apply for a higher position in the next three years.

Because he cannot use a photo of naked self to illustrate why he would miss the sea in December? Because his students may respect him less? Because his blog was linked from his academic web page? Because a journalist with Gandul daily wrote negatively [RO] about his improper behaviour, casting a shadow upon his employer? Because the society at large dislikes nudity? Because next time he sunbathes naked in 2 Mai (fisherman village by the Black Sea) he should be on the lookout for his (potential) students sunbathing naked, in order to avoid them?

The photo, presenting the beautiful, painted naked back of Gigi against the sea, has been taken down today by the gramo couple. You may, however, see it in the Gandul article [RO] and on other Romanian blogs. The woman gramo blogger, Ramona Florea, working as a web editor for another Romanian daily, is expecting a gramo-baby: 21 weeks and seemingly in danger of abortion [RO] due to the stress caused by this bitter situation.

The button above was designed by netoo [RO/ EN] bloggers to support the gramo family.

So far, Gramo's world may be the only Romanian blog to have been picked up by Boing Boing. Good deeds deserve punishment, don't they?

Good and evil, reward and punishment, are the only motives to a rational creature: these are the spur and reins whereby all mankind are set on work, and guided. (John Locke, 1632-1704)
