hot pickles for cold winters

A few months ago, some chili peppers bought in Romania were getting terribly bored in our fridge, so I decided to pickle them in vinegar with some onions that filled too much space in our drawer. We had the first taste on Monday and let me tell you, that onion was HOT. So it didn't take much effort yesterday to turn a small jar into a large one, filled with more onion next to the cabbage and carrots that were getting bored this time in our fridge. To learn how to boil the vinegar with water and salt I turned to that famous bible of Romanian cooking, Sanda Marin (a masculine name that sounds feminine and confuses a lot of people), which was a very inspired gift from my parents during the same chili peppers trip in the summer. And now we wait.
