mother-of-pearl earrings
Tweet
mother of pearl earrings, originally uploaded by gorgeoux. Yesterday was a mean day. Dark and wet and cold, it qualified for November in the blink of an eye. And February, to be honest. Those months when few exciting things happen. The surprise was personal, and big: let's go out, I said, let's go to Angel's. And the prize followed shortly after that bus and the one thousand and one pools we splashed—the rich hot chocolate of Paul A. Young. Had mine with cinnamon, cardamom, and Szechuan pepper.
On the way there, of course, I spotted this pair of earrings from a mile, as a kind lady was putting her stool away at the street market. And after much consideration of the many shiny options she displayed in front of me with a mirror and a handy lamp, I stayed with my first choice. Which happened to fit my lovely new wool blouse and my shiny new skirt like magic. And cost the amazing amount of GBP 8. And are long and heavy and partly covered in silver.
Then we bought gifts, and had pints, and ate in the nicest Brazilian restaurant in Camden (more on this soon), and discovered the bestest cachaca ever (a couple of bottles to be delivered tomorrow mu ha ha ha), and took further buses, and laughed in the face of the weather.
