guest post: in love with a woman
Tweet
I never fell in love with a woman... or almost. Just once. It's my fault, I suppose. Human beings are human beings in my opinion, a woman is as good as a man to fall in love with. Love is such a complicated and capricious thing! Maybe, as we do with men, we need the right person in order to fall in love with a woman. I always wondered if the so called 'right one' is something that really exists. I'm not sure. You see, I'm 42 and I'm alone. Maybe there is no 'right person' in the end.
But I digress.
I fell in love with a place. It's an old building which hosts a museum now, in a city 200 miles away from where I live. The house was built to be a summer residence of a Brazilian emperor. The particular building I fell in love with is the antique forge of that house. It's beyond beautiful with long tall windows and waterfalls echoing inside. Very magic. A dreamy place. It reminded me of virtual places like Second Life (not that I've been there, as I've never joined) or Cybertown. I never saw something like that in the real world before, but I did in virtual reality, thousands of times.
Virtual places remind me of the only woman I ever loved in my life. Someone I never met. She was real but virtual. And very magic. Like that place. Sometimes I think I am in the wrong place. I still believe this. Wrong place and wrong time. But still, I think I have the right dreams.
Daniela, a.k.a. DaniCast and I met in Cybertown some nine years ago and still dream, to day, about meeting face to face—as soon as I visit Brazil, I suppose, since she's not exactly fond of flying ;) Dani writes MadTeaParty [BR] and I'm proud to understand about half of it, having never studied Portuguese.
While on holiday on a remote Philippines island, I gave the blog over to family and friends.
